Project Spark expands to Birmingham: supporting Archbishop Ilsley school with tech donations

It is a pleasure to support Archbishop Ilsley School in Birmingham with a donation of 250 scientific calculators and 30 Chromebooks. Investing in the next generation through vital tech donations.

We donated these calculators as part of our 'Calcul8 for Schools' campaign, in which we’ve committed to donating at least 1,000 calculators in 2024 to equip students for academic success. And we celebrated a new milestone - our first tech donation outside of London!

Tech for the future

In collaboration with Monzo Bank, we also arranged a donation of 30 Chromebooks, empowering students to excel in their studies. These Chromebooks were generously repurposed and donated by Monzo Bank.

These contributions are part of Project Spark, our ongoing tech donation initiative aimed at bridging the technology gap in underfunded schools. By providing essential tools, we’re helping ensure all students have the resources they need to succeed, both in class and during exams. We're thrilled to have now supported 7 schools through Project Spark, 5 in collaboration with Monzo Bank.

"This donation is aimed at ensuring every pupil has equal opportunities to succeed in their mathematics education, regardless of financial circumstances. By providing these calculators and laptops, Open Palm and Monzo Bank are helping to break down barriers to learning, ensuring that all pupils can achieve their full potential.
These resources will make a significant difference to many of our pupils, helping them to engage fully in their studies and succeed in mathematics. This is a wonderful example of how communities can come together to support education and opportunities for all."
- Mr Zaman, Mathematics teacher at Archbishop Ilsley school

We thank Monzo Bank for their continued support.
