Our first employability workshop in Birmingham

We're so excited to be growing our reach. We delivered our first in-person WYZ For Work employability workshop to Year 10 students of King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy. on 13 December 2022.

We welcomed three separate classes throughout the morning and helped them to prepare for first job applications and interviews. We were joined by some of our volunteers online too, all sharing career insights.

The students were really engaged and asked good questions, showing that they were seriously considering their next career steps. The majority of students said they learnt something new and felt more confident interviewing for roles, as a result of the workshop.

It's nice to hold in-person workshops outside of London and broaden our reach. It's great to see how receptive students are of our content. We look forward to delivering more workshops and supporting students throughout the country. - Ralph, Trustee

Huge thanks to King Edward VI school for having us, to our volunteers and particularly Raz who led the session in person. Our workshops are aimed at young people aged 13-18, to prepare them for career success. We aim to close the opportunity gap particularly for those of ethically or socially diverse backgrounds.

If you'd like to book your workshop, please email wyz@openpalm.org.uk.
